Hey there!

Today I have a little review of the Huda Beauty Mauve Obsessions palette. I was originally going to get the Electric Obsessions palette, but because I had already bought the Nyx Ultimate Brights, I thought it would be a bit silly to have 2 palettes of bright colours. The Mauve Obsessions palette seemed my next best bet as the colours are right down my street!
The palettes retail for £25, and you can buy them from Cult Beauty here, or from the Huda Beauty website here.

The palette itself is smaller than my hand! The packaging is a slick black, and features the shadows and the brand name on the front. Inside, there is a mirror, which is impressive as some big palettes don't even have that!

There are 9 shadows all together, 6 matte and 3 shimmer. The entire weight of the palette is 67g, although the pan sizes are the same as the larger Huda Beauty eyeshadow palettes.

Although this palette is smaller than my hand, it sure does pack some serious pigmentation. Above is all the shades swatched row by row, l-r. Even the palest shade swatches like a dream, and I often find shades like that don't show up very well usually. The mattes are very buttery, and are easy to build up on the eye. The shimmers are best applied with a finger, and I find that a base, such as the Nyx Glitter Glue, helps them go a lot further.

Overall, I think while the price tag of this palette may seem a little steep for the actual size of it, it is actually well worth the money. The fact that you don't lose the pan size compared to the regular palette is a bonus, and seeing as the regular ones are around the £56 mark, I think a palette like this for £25 is a good way to step into Huda Beauty (which is what I did) as a tester to see if you would like to purchase more from the brand. The shadows work really well on the eye, and I find myself reaching for the palette more than I expected! I would definitely recommend picking this, or one of the other Obsessions palettes, if you are in the market for one.

Thank you so much from reading, and I will see you next time!

Hello there! Well, it's been a while, hasn't it? I've been so busy with uni work and other things in my life that I just haven't had time to post! I do have a backlog of photos for post though, so hopefully I'll be back to my usual schedule.
Today I am showing you how I got this blue and purple eye look, so let's jump right in!

First of all I used Peach Smoothie by Makeup Geek as my first transition colour.

I then put Buon Fresco from the ABH Modern Renaissance Palette over top of this.

Then I put Lolita from the Nyx Hot Singles on top.

I tried to then put a bit of Fantasy by Colourpop right through my crease line, but I had forgotten how difficult it is to blend, so I wouldn't recommend doing this.

In order to try and soften that purple line, I used Passionate Purple from the Elf Loose Pigments.

I then put Coconut from Colourpop all over my lid.

To make the transition softer, I kept adding bits of the elf pigment and the Colourpop shadow, blending and packing until I was happy with the outcome. Then Input Solstice from Urban Decay on top of the Coconut shade to make a duochrome look.

I lightly smudged some of Nyx Karma Sutra on my lower lash line, but I wasn't too sure on it.

To highlight my inner corner and brow bone I used Hemisphere from the Sleek Solstice Highlighting Palette.

For my lips, I first rook Power by Nyx.

Then I put Solstice from Urban Decay on top!

And there we have it! I hope you enjoyed this look, and I will be posting more soon!

Hello!

So seeing as tomorrow is Valentine's Day, I thought I would do a makeup look for it!
This isn't my best post ever (and I've done some shocking ones) I haven't had any time to properly do a post, so I did this last night after I finished work. Because of this, I have only done the eyes (I'd had these eyebrows on all day btw that's why they look worse than normal). But I really wanted to do this post because I've had the idea for a while, so at least I tried ey?

ALSO my camera apparently hated me and did some awful focusing, but I've just accepted that this post is a bit of a car crash tbh.

Firstly, I used Makeup Geek Peach Smoothie in my crease.

Then I took Buon Fresco from the ABH Modern Renaissance Palette (spoiler: the rest of the eyeshadows are from this palette, it was practically MADE for Valentine's Day)

Then I used Love Letter a bit lower down in my crease.

I wanted to further deepen and intensify that look, so I ised Venetian Red as well.

Then on the outer corner and inner corner, as well as a connection in the crease between the two, I took Red Ochre, to make the start of a halo eye.

Then I put some NYX Face and Body Glitter in Rose right in the centre with some glue.

Then I put some of that Red Ochre shade all along my lower lash line.

To highlight my brow bone and inner corner, I used Vermeer.

And there you have it! I think this eye makeup isn't too difficult, especially because there's no eyeliner involved, so it eliminates the stress of that. But I think the colours are very appropriate for the occasion, and show some effort without being overly dramatic. I think this would look amazing with false lashes, but I need to get some new ones!

I hope you have a lovely Valentine's Day

Hello!
I got this suuuuper cool pink eyeliner from Nyx, and I really wanted to use it, so I came up with this look. It feels good to break out of the dark colours, and start using brighter ones now spring is gonna be here soon... Well, it's a while yet, but I'm excited haha. I'm hoping to get the Nyx Ultimate Brights Palette when it's back in stock to start doing some more brighter looks, but until then, here you are!

First of all, I used Peach Smoothie from Makeup Geek as my initial transition colour.

I took Lick Me from the I Heart Makeup Death By Chocolate palette and put it in my crease and up to my brow bone, fading it out.

Then I took Buon Fresco from the Anastasia Beverly Hills Modern Renaissance palette to deepen that first pink colour.

For my lid colour, I used Lolita from Nyx, it's one of their new Hot Singles eyeshadows.

On a pencil brush, I took Kama Sutra from the Nyx Hot Singles just to add a tiny bit of depth.

Then I applied the eyeliner! It is the Nyx Vivid Brights in Vivid Petal.

Please forgive the lighting from now on, I started late afternoon and by the time I had done my face makeup, the light had gone. I first used my flash gun, and as you will see, I then switched to my ring light, I do apologise!

But here, I lined my water line with some white eye liner, and then smudged some of the Kama Sutra shade on the outer half.

I put mascara on my top lashes, but not the bottom.

On my lips, I used Nyx Lip Lingerie in Corset, topped with Nyx Glam Lip Gloss Aqua Luxe in Beat Goes On. There's a lot of Nyx in this because I just bought some new stuff! And you know I LOVE them...

On my inner corner and brow bone, I used Hemisphere from the Sleek Solstice highlighting palette.

I hope you enjoyed this look, I'm loving the bright colours, and I think it has made a nice change to the looks I have been doing recently haha.

See you in the next one!
