Happy Saturday my lovelies!

Now, exam season is fast approaching, and for some of us this unfortunately means that weekends and evenings will no longer be a time of relaxation, but a time to panic and flounder in notes and PowerPoint hand outs. But if you organise your revision and vaguely know what you're doing, it's not so bad. I've had six years of revising for GCSEs/A-Levels, and I though I would share with you the helpful tips and trick that I've picked up that make revising, well not enjoyable, but at least a bit more bearable.

Music

This first one may not apply to all, but I definitely find it better having music on while I'm revising. I recently found a playlist on Spotify called "Revision Ballads" and it's full of chill out tunes that you can play in the background while revising.

Notepads

This may seem like an obvious one, but there's been plenty of times where I've come to revise and realised I have nowhere to write. I find A4 notepads the best as I feel like I'm reading/writing less? Maybe it's because I flick through less pages.

Stationary

This is a HUGE point for me, firstly, because I am utterly obsessed with stationary, I am happiest in Paperchase choosing my next set of notebooks and pens. Sad, I know. But I am a visual learner, and colours are essential for me to be able to focus. I'm more likely to remember things, and even look at them if the key points are highlighted and definitions are in a different colour. Of course, this may not be for everyone, but at least your notes look pretty, right?

Flash Cards

Flash cards are so useful when it comes to learning key terms. Simply write the term on one side, and the definition on another. Then get a friend of family member to read one of the sides out to you and tell them what is on the other. I find these really useful as you can also use them by yourself and they're small enough to carry around rather than lugging a notepad everywhere.

Time Management

I am completely useless at time management. I am always late, no joke. And I often get in a flutter about what I'm supposed to be doing each day. It took me until last summer to realise that maybe a day to day diary/planner would help me with this. It actually helped so much that I have two, a small one to carry in my handbag and a larger one that I keep on my desk. I write in my daily tasks, and then I can plan my revision around that. And can we please appreciate the pug/unicorn? So cute!

Chill Out

This is surprisingly harder than it seems. While I should be made Procrastination Queen most of the time, when it comes to revising I do tend to get in the swing of it, and I can forget to chill and take time for myself. Don't over revise as this will do you no help. Have a cuppa, eat something. Self care is just as important as passing your exams. What's the point in all that revision if you fall asleep in the exam?

Zen colouring books are great for relaxing. My old counsellor used to give me print outs of mandala patterns as colouring in the repetitive patterns helps to calm anxious feelings. The same applies when revising. The motions relax you, and it's time to chill out and let your stresses go.

I hope that these tips help you with your revision, and good luck to all who are sitting your exams soon, you'll smash it!

Hello!

Today I decided that I wanted to about 4 new products I have been using. They're all face products and I've enjoyed trying them out, and most of them are going to stay in my usual routine.

First off, is Lemon Aid from Benefit. This is a colour correcting primer for your eye lids, but I've been using as a colour corrector underneath my eyes. I works amazingly and cancels out the red/purple tones. You don't need a lot of product with this, although I don't blend it in. It feels almost waxy to me but not in a bad way. The packaging is also so cute, I love the simplicity of the black and yellow.

Next is this little gem, the Lasting Perfection Concealer from Collection. I've seen so many great reviews about this and now that I've finally tried it out, it didn't disappoint. I got the shade "Fair"as I'm basically transparent a lot of the time. This is great coverage and brightens up all the areas I need, especially under my eyes. I may even use this to replace my usual concealer, which is the Hide and Conceal by MUA.

I've recently tried the Garnier BB Cream in Light instead of my usual foundation. I've never used a BB Cream before, and in all honesty I'm not sure what the difference between a BB cream and a CC cream is (maybe I should find that out). I got this in a set along with a skin spray thing to get glowy skin. While I can't say this BB cream made my skin noticeably brighter, it did give me more coverage than I expected. I used my usual amount that I would with my regular foundation, only I used just half of this, so a little bit goes a long way. The shade is Light, but it's still a little bit too dark for me but it evened out once I added concealer.

Finally is the L'Oreal Infallible Sculpt. I LOVE this! (As you can probably see by the fact that I've hit pan on each side). I've used the Clinique chubby stick as a cream contour before, but this contour cream is amazing! It turns into a powder once blended and is a very subtle contour, it doesn't leave dirt like streaks down my face. But on days when I want a more dramatic look I do put another powder over the top and bronze up my face as well, although this really isn't needed. The kit comes with a leaflet with instructions on how to contour properly. I may do a post on this as I have the whole kit, so stay tuned!

I hope this has given you an idea on what products are out there to try, experimenting with products is fun!

Hello!
Today I wanted to show how I came up with a super metallic look. It's another pink eyemakeup look, but I used highlighters to really show some shine. I paired this look with the MUA Luxe Metallic Liquid Lips in Luster. I've had this lipgloss for so long and never known what to use it with, so I was mega excited that I finally got to try it out. I hope you enjoy this look!

First of all, I used a lavender shade from the Technic Mega Sultry palette. This shade was actually quite pigmented, and the company is cruelty free, which is a bonus!

Then I packed the lightest highlight shade from the Makeup Revolution Blush palette in Sugar and Spice across my eyelid. This shade was very crumbly and I had a lot of fallout, but then I suppose it's not really an eyeshadow. It just took a lot of building up to get the super shiny look that I wanted.

I buffed Toasted from the Urban Decay Naked palette into my outer corner. This took a lot of switching back and forth between the highlight shade and Toasted until I got my desired look.

Obviously, I then added eyeliner because it's the one thing I can't live without.

I then took the original shade from the Technic palette and ran it along my lower lash line with a pencil brush before adding mascara.

Then I popped on my falsies (I'm aware you can see the glue, I was in a bit of a rush but you get the idea)

Now my favourite part, the lipgloss! This is just such a beautiful shade. I've had it a while and I've been dying to try it so I was super excited when I came up with this idea. It shimmers very intensely in the light, and surprisingly isn't too sticky.

I hope you enjoyed this super easy look, and I'll see you next time
